I Don't See Christ, I See Bread: Ecumenical Service in Bern
#12
I have been to several N.O. Masses, and in each one of them, even the ones that some people would call "reverent," several abuses occurred.  Let's not forget that a Protestant supper table is a sacrilegious abuse, as are women speaking in Church, altar girls and "Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers (EEMs).  There hasn't been one N.O. Mass that I have attended that didn't have those things present.  The ones with clowns, balloons, people dancing in the isles and the priests doing the limbo are just obviously more over the top, but the abuses are still present in the most "reverent" of N.O. Masses.  This is due to the very foundation of the N.O. Mass itself, which removed certain essentials from the true Mass and allowed it to become Protestant worship, which is the biggest sacrilege of them all.
