With me it could be that I was raised on soda my Dad drinks Mt Dew and My Mom drinks Dr. Pepper so from the time I was little I was drinking soda.

As an aside I hate water it literally makes me gag when I have to drink just plain water.

you wouldnt have fared so well in cave men times

I think I'd do better than you Icecream. I can drink it if I have too. But what would you do without your beloved frozen treat eh?

Chop your breakfast on a mirror, eh?

I like my Coke in a can...I like the aluminum taste on it.

I like my beer out of a tap, in a glass...but if I'm at an American dive and have to drink American piss water, then I drink Coors Light most of the time (or Scotch!).

The sugar and caffeine in soda are both very addictive.  Try to cut down over time, using a scheduled plan for quitting and moving to another beverage (maybe tea with splenda or something?) would make things easier.

I'm working on the tea thing.  1 glass of soda, 1 glass of tea.  Then I'll try 1 glass of soda and 2 glasses of tea.  It's harder in the winter.  Thanks for the advice. :)

I always said that if I ever needed a blood transfusion, just hook me up to an IV of soda.

i thought you couldnt have sugar at all when diabettoc

Maybe not if you have severe type 1 diabetes, but most diabetics have less severe forms. I have mild type 2 diabetes, and I still have stuff with sugar in it (such as, ahem, ice cream). I just have to watch how much of that stuff I eat, and make sure to get regular exercise. I did have to switch from regular soda (I used to drink close to a 12-pack per day of regular Coke) to diet soda, and lately I've had to start taking medication (Metformin) to control blood sugar, but I can still eat some sugar. In the summer, I ride between 100-200 miles per week on my bike (most of it in hilly terrain), so I can get away with more sugary stuff (and more stuff in general).

Good for you.  I wish I was that disciplined.  :w2go:

She liked Cola, too. At least it said so in the book. So you're in good company, Quis.  :)
