Did the New Theology Theologians derail Synod Vatican 2?
An article appeared in 1946, about 16 years before Synod Vatican 2 began, which is somewhat prophetic (because it helps to explain the mentality of some very famous clergy, including two future popes, concerning what they did, and why they did it, during Synod Vatican 2), about a sinister, somewhat secret, group of people in the church.  This group is called “the New Theology Theologians”.

The famous Father Garrigou-Lagrange, O.P. wrote this article which he called “Where is the New Theology Leading Us?”.  It was published about 16 years before Synod Vatican 2 in a 1946 issue of the “Angelicum” (published in Rome at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas).

In it, Father writes: “And on what path did those who were inspired by this new theology end up? Where but on the road of skepticism, fantasy and heresy?”

Also: “Pius X said of the Modernists, ‘they pervert the eternal concept of Truth’.”

Father also quotes this very prophetic warning from Pope Pius XII:

“His Holiness, Pius XII, recently said in a published Discourse in L'Osservatore Romano, Dec. 19,

‘There is a good deal of talk (but without the necessary clarity of concept), about a “new theology”, which must be in constant transformation [i.e. constant change], following the example of all other things in the world, which are in a constant state of flux and movement, without ever reaching their term. If we were to accept such an opinion, what would become of the unchangeable dogmas of the Catholic Faith; and what would become of the unity and stability of that Faith?’”

The undisputed answer to Pius XII’s question, in my opinion, is: Synod Vatican 2 and its aftermath which is the destruction of everything “Catholic”!

When you read this entire article, you can really understand the diabolical influence in the corrupted thinking of these self-proclaimed “reformers” who elected themselves to lead us out of our “Catholic ghettos” by totally changing everything that was “Catholic”: the Liturgy (the missal, the breviary, and the two rituals), rewriting the Bible, abandoning the ancient Apostolic Tradition, making us more ecumenical, and engaging the world.

In my humble opinion, this is a “must read”, especially for Traditional Catholics.  There is a copy of this entire article, which includes all of its endnotes, as an appendix on this web page:

Wishing all a Blessed Holy Week!
