Why does everyone blame God when bad things happen?

Why did God allow Christ, the greatest son ever to have lived, to be taken away from his mother, the greatest mother that ever lived, in a most barbaric way?

God works in mysterious ways and we are not privy to all of his plans. '

Also remember God's rebuke of Job when the latter asked God why he was making him suffer so much:

Quote:Were you there when I made the world? If you know so much, tell me about it. 5 Who decided how large it would be? Who stretched the measuring line over it? Do you know all the answers? 6 What holds up the pillars that support the earth? Who laid the cornerstone of the world? 7 In the dawn of that day the stars sang together, and the heavenly beings shouted for joy. 8 Who closed the gates to hold back the sea when it burst from the womb of the earth? 9 It was I who covered the sea with clouds and wrapped it in darkness. 10 I marked a boundary for the sea and kept it behind bolted gates. 11 I told it, "So far and no farther! Here your powerful waves must stop."

QTF

Exactly.  Where were we?  The same answer applies to any question, including BOD,  whose answer escapes us.  Thank you, Vetus Ordo, for the wonderful quote you make from the sacred  Book of Job.

Already corrected.
You should do the same.

That's cheating!

No, it's called perseverance in the face of adversity.

"Also : you're welcome"

Can someone explain the debate going on in the last few threads? QTF? I don't know what that means. Thanks.

Also, I'm curious how Job explains disasters and diseased children or terminated unborns. Isn't God also in the middle of this fight with us? The God of the Old Testament was very angry with humanity because the ultimate sacrifice He made for us had not yet been made. Thus, I understand Job in this light. I do not understand its context after Jesus Christ.

I want our priests to be active fighters against evil, not passive accepters of it as the Jews and Moslems are. We have a real church, they don't. Naturally evil happens to them.

Our resident shit disturber Dr Mumbai (aka Dr Bombay) started a thread complained about the use ofthe single word "this" which is used to denote agreement with a prior post. So the good doc proposed five alternatives or so, one of which is "QFT" = Quoted For Truth, which Vetus has gleefully adopted. I think it's bloody confusing. It migh as well mean "Quit Freaking Talking" so I like using "aye" instead.

Job shows that evil happens to good people for two reasons: 1. To test their faith (its easy to be faithful when everything goes your way) 2. Because Satan hates good people.

Still, when Job asks why does God allow this God responds by saying this is an insulting question. God created the world. He has given us so much. Everything really. Who are we to question him?  If we truly love God we will understand we are his servants not the other way around.
