WASHINGTON, D.C. (Catholic Online) – The U.S. bishops called “reprehensible and dangerous” the deliberate targeting of religious sites, in a Feb. 24 statement on the “horrible attack on the Al Askariya Mosque-the Golden Mosque of Samarra, one of the most sacred religious sites in Shi’a Islam.”

I cannot help but wonder if the Iraqi's fighting are doing so to prevent the same, "Who-cares-what-your-religion-is," attitude from creeping into Sunni Islam? Was it not Abu Musab al-Zarqawi who gave the best inditement of democracy. He said something to the effect that the great lie of that system of government was that one could choose their religion. If only the American bishops had that much courage. I also suspect the Iraqi's also do not want their daughter to become like the American harlots who, on the whole, represent the women of the country whose army is in Iraq.
