Can we extricate ourselves from Molinism?

If you take away the movement of the will towards good from God's providence and give it to man then you put God almost as a secondary figure in the act of salvation, or at least an equal player.  It's a partnership, which isn't possible theologically.  Yes, He offers us salvation, but then He has to passively wait to see if we will accept it or not, something which He has absolutely no control over and yet is the heart and soul of man's existence.

We remove God from the most intimate and powerful act in all of creation.

Ok, now you are just bordering on heresy.  Catholicism has ALWAYS taught the synergistic nature of our salvation.  A partnership is not only possible, but theologically necessary in order to remain Catholic.

Yes (but it is far from being an equal partnership).  Our will is to conform to God's will, but they are separate wills.  He is the primary cause of  our good will, but He makes us the true secondary cause (by this secondary causation we "work out our salvation").  He does not "wait" for us from His point of view, yet in a way He does "wait" from our point of view.  The gift of free will leaves a man truly free to choose good or evil - God does not step in and totally obliterate  the man's will when he chooses good.   God is the primary cause, so that man can not finally take credit,  yet God gives some credit to him - heaven is a reward!

(oops, sorry for the double post)
