Dude, it's the FFL. They don't peacekeep like most other armies do. They don't go around handing out water, they blow the bad guys to bits. They're basically a band of mercenaries.

I think it's more due to a lack of  good-paying jobs and quality women than concerns about dedicating one's life to a possible amoral organization.

You're right. It's them, not you.

One who compromises becomes compromised.

Christ asks us to sacrifice, not compromise.  One of the most faithful young women I've ever met married a guy she met at college and helped bring into the faith.  He had health problems, didn't think he'd be able to find a job for his degree and to be honest, was a huge jerk.  Not in the "bad boy" sense, but in the "got angry for no good reason and would treat others like crap" sense.  Except her.
