Ah yes, I remember the days, though they were almost 4 decades ago (class of 1973, B.Sci. Animal Science). I remember a Friday night when the fraternity roomie and I wanted to do something, and we each had a dollar. Back then at a local student tavern a pitcher of Olympia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympia_Brewing_Company could be had for $1.25 and a heaping pie tin of fresh popcorn for $0.25. After our evening "on the town" we each had a quarter, which was about a dime shy of buying a gallon of gasoline (we walked the 10 blocks to the tavern, and then back to the house).
