Stay home if you're sick!

When I was a student, we had work to do (some of which involved the library) that we could fail out if we didn't get it done.  If you skipped class, you had to get caught up on the material prior to the test.  So actually, it was a matter of feeding my future family.

Then again, I took actual classes and got a real degree in something marketable...

Lazy compared to whom? We are the least lazy out of all the First World.

You've clearly never met a German. Or a Japanese.

I have never been sick, not once, since I started taking 3000 - 5000 mg of Vitamin C via a powder put into water throughout the day.  Going on over a year now.  And I"m not the picture of perfect health.  In fact, I take medication that's supposed to decrease my immunity.  I hang out with my SIL's constantly sick children too.

Actually, using GDP (PPP) which means 'gross domestic product normalised to purchasing power parities', the US ranks fourth in the world, after Norway, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Germany is #8, after Belgium, France and Ireland. Canada's  #14, but still well ahead of Japan at #21.

I cough into my arm. Coughing into your hand is icky, you will only pass the germs unto the next thing you touch.

That's still "covering your mouth."

True.

I prefer that people use handkerchiefs or cloth napkins.
