What does it explain?

A degree from one of the premier commie schools in, probably, the biggest hotbed of communism, feminism, anti-Americanism and every other nutty left-wing 'ism' in the country?

You forgot to mention the Black Panthers.

I doubt the Black Panthers went to college.

Our mother once served the head of the Black Panthers when she was waiting tables to put herself through college.

You're right, tho' the Party was founded in Oakland, right next door and Bobby Seale one of the founders went to Berkley High.

UC Berkely is one of the finest institutions of higher learning in the world despite its flaws. No one should be shamed to have a degree from such a fine institution.

This said Hewey Newton, head of the Black Panthers, did earn a doctorate, I believe at UC Irvine.

You made a bunch of statements. What does that prove about me?

Still shot thru' with every form of left wing nuttiness. Of course, it's just worse there than it is at most secular schools and many 'Catholic schools. And Huey Newton (note the spelling, he was named after the 'racist' governor of Louisiana, Huey Long) did, indeed, earn a doctorate in 'social philosophy (sounds commie to me) but from UC Santa Cruz.

I went to Berkeley, too. What does it explain about me?

And so you look down on people who studied liberal arts and assume they've never worked hard?

Ever translate a hundred lines of Euripides at 4 in the morning? How about doing that every night for years?

Dust might not think this, but my first year roommate was an engineering student, and he always made fun of me for being in science (pre-med).  I think they called all non-engineers "Artsies" or something?  As if the assinine ERTW thing that got written all over campus wasn't bad enough.  It's an engineer thing.  I wouldn't take it too seriously...not that I think you'll lose sleep over it :P
