my friend has applied to join the brothers / priests of this order. I have never heard of them; has anyone here?

Yeah, I know them, they used to be an order in residence at Ave Maria University. Their sister's ran the women's discernment program until there was a huge scandal and the order was forced to leave Ave Maria. Their priests have been pretty good from my experience, although they seemed a tad bit hostile towards learning the TLM, nonetheless they were pretty good priests as far as N.O. goes. I personally wouldn't join them, but two of my friends did.
