What's your opinion on offering Mass in baroque vestments in a Gothic chapel?

Also, for those who don't know who Augustus Pugin is, you surely know his most famous building: the Palace of Westminster, where the UK Parliament meets and which also includes the famous Big Ben tower. Pugin wasn't the chief architect, but he was responsible for the decoration of the interior and many details of the exterior as well.

When Westminster Palace was being rebuilt in the 1800's, there was a great debate about what style ought to be used. A lot of people wanted it to be Classical, just like the American government buildings in Washington, D.C. Those plans were rejected because Classical was associated with republican governments and liberalism. Gothic was associated with monarchy, conservatism and keeping with the tradition of the previous palace's style.

(Pugin actually was displeased with the ultimate result of Westminster, complaining that it still was too Classical. But it proves my point about the sort of traditional values that are associated with Gothic and that ought to be embraced by all traditional Christians.)
