Diocese of Detroit calls Real Catholic TV not a Catholic Organization.

Michael explains the name change in this Vortex:

He never said it is because the Detroit archdiocese asked him to remove the word "Catholic" from RealCatholicTV.com, so let's refrain from speculation.

When the Detroit archdiocese originally asked him several years ago to remove the word "Catholic" from the domain name he owned--"catholictelevision.org"--he did so promptly, moving all content over to "theonetruefaith.tv." He explained, however, that he did not own the domain name "RealCatholicTV.com", and that it was owned rather by Marc Brammer in South Bend, who is under the jurisdiction of Bp. Kevin Rhoades. He did not have the authority to change the domain name, and that is the truth. The Detroit archdiocese acknowledged this fact in writing.

After many months of silence & no communication, Michael suddenly heard about this press release in December 2011 claiming he was not authorized to use "Catholic" in the domain name. He found out about it the same way everyone else did: via blogs. The press release created the false impression that he was disobedient, when nothing is farther from the truth.

Marc Brammer was wanting to head in a different direction from Michael's own interests, and Michael had also just purchased a new studio, so what better time to start things "anew", in a sense? Personally, I think ChurchMilitant.TV fits their aim and mission much better--plus, it's just super cool.  Smile

As to Michael's dissuading others from attending the Novus Ordo, he has loudly and consistently criticized the practices normally associated with the Novus Ordo: standing for Holy Communion, taking the Sacred Host in the hand, bland music, goofy liturgy, Catholic-lite homilies, etc. I think anyone who watches him gets the picture.

God bless,
Christine

Christine,

Could you please clarify then: Is ChurchMilitant.TV and Michael Voris still working for/with St. Michael's Media, or had Michael struck out on his own now?  Also, is the new studio in the AoD?

Allan,

The new studio is in the same town, Ferndale, so yes, it is in the archdiocese of Detroit.  I do not know if they are still hooked up with those in Indiana.

In the audio interview provided by Credo 111, Voris says he is still associated with St Michael Media.

Allan: St. Michael's Media is a non-profit that was founded and is owned by Michael Voris; it still exists, and he still owns it. They are no longer affiliated with Marc Brammer, who is taking his work in a new direction. ChurchMilitant.TV's new studio is only about a mile away from the old one, and so it is indeed still in the AoD.
