Dealing with Racism
While I am US born, my parents were from the Philippines. Like the OP, many of my family members are racist, especially towards black people. Every time my nephew brings his black friends over, they tend to get a little paranoid, especially my dad. While they have legitimate concerns about my nephew hanging out with the "wrong crowd," I think they judge too rashly, plus my sister (his mother, who has more say than my parents I would think) is good at both keeping him away from the wrong people while letting him make friends with all sorts of people, Asian or not.
I really have nothing to add to this discussion other than that it is important to distinguish between true racism and the modern, politically correct, weaponized buzz-word of "racism".
