Trying to find information on NCW
#1
I've read many posts on various blogs over the past couple of days regarding the Pope's approval of the "Catechetical Directory of the Neocatechumenal Way."  Since I know nothing about this group, I've been trying to learn more about what specifically they teach and what materials they use.  I have not been able to find anything, even on their official website - just their vague "statutes."  I can't even find where the groups are located in the U.S.  It all seems very secretive to me.

I'm specifically trying to find out what kind of presence they have in Philadelphia.  All I've found is some youtube videos from a Mass with Cardinal Rigali, and a blog post from Cardinal O'Malley about a NCW gathering he attended in Jerusalem (I think) with Archbishop Chaput, among others.

Do any of you know anything specific about this group and where I can read their catechetical materials?

I don't know if they address your specific questions, but this site has several recent posts on the NCW:

The current situation and the approval granted by the Vatican for certain Neocat celebrations is one that requires a certain familiarity with the long term development of the NCW to understand.  I would recommend reading what's at Rorate with that in mind since a lot of what Rorate's contributors post assumes that the readership already knows the details of the situation.  I've been reading Rorate now for years and I still get lost sometimes.

Thank you.  I read the posts on Rorate Caeli, but hadn't seen any direct materials until this morning.  Someone posted a link to what is, I think,  their Catechist  manual.  However, it's written in Spanish: http://es.scribd.com/doc/78339176/Catequ...2011-Final

I still don't know how to find out where they are operating, which I think is extremely odd.
