Before the Red Revolution, Russian Orthodox seminaries taught classes in Latin, and used the Summa Theologia as a major text.  Life is not so simple, eh?  :grin:

Actually, the Russians were in a different situation and still are. They are not exactly in the same historical boat as the rest of the Eastern Orthodox.

The history of the Church in Russia is very interesting, more than what people may suspect.
