Well, we did reenter communion with Rome 200 years later than the Ruthenians and Ukrainians, perhaps they feel we have 200 years more of obstinate heresy that needs to be stamped out.  I suppose BXVI would become a hero were he to have GIII thrown to the floor and place his (B) foot on his (G) head as well.


No, the Ukrainians at least are just as obstinate. The former head of the Ukrainian Church, the ever memorable Cardinal Lubomyr Husar, said that questions such as purgatory, the Immaculate Conception and the filioque are "theological concepts, not faith."
