Animal Rights Activists Disrupt Mass
#1
On August 25, a group of animal rights activists disrupted Mass at the church of the Miraculous Virgin in Lima, Peru. They shouted insults against the priest who was celebrating and accused him of 'murdering' a cat. As they entered the church, Fr berrade was forced to suspend the Mass and leave the sanctuary while police arrived to keep the group outside.
The activists claim that the priest refused to allow the rescue of a cat that was trapped on the roof. The parish sacristan told CNA that he climbed up to the roof of the church and saw no sign of the cat.
According to local residents, the activists continued their protest in front of the parish rectory into the early morning hours, continuously shouting and banging on the rectory door.
During Mass on Sunday, August 26, Fr. Berrade dismissed the accusations by the animal rights activists.

Murdering a Cat?

I know liturgical abuses are getting out of hand but that is going too far.

Maybe they saw a flyer for the "Catholic Sacrifice of the Mass" and somebody spilt some Tipex on 'holic'

In my opinion, these are small organized essays made by the leftists to check the Church's capacity and will for reaction.
When time is ripe for persecution, they will know that no resistance will be offered by the Church against their minions.
It will be too late to pray and offer some penance, then.

'When people wish to destroy religion, they begin by attacking the priest, because where there is no longer any priest there is no sacrifice, and where there is no longer any sacrifice there is no religion.'

That sounds about right. They're just warming up. What should have been done is for the men to escort them out of the Church, and then proceed to kick the living snot out of them. But how can that ever happen? We live in an age where we are afraid to use the word Sodomite, or homo, or Jew. The men are already de-balled by the hand of political correctness. By the way, is abiding by political correctness the 20th and 21st Century's version of offering sacrifice to idols? I think it is.

Imagine if you will, what would happen if Anti-Abortion Activists stormed an abortion clinic and shouted that they are killing babies. And imagine further, if you will, what would happen if after being evicted from the sanctuary of evil, they continued to pound on the doors and shout.

And while you are pondering how long that would be allowed to go on before the cops started beating and spraying those protestors and carting them off to jail, consider the folly of the Religious Liberty ruse our bishops currently engage in. As they beg and snivel before the Constitution asking to be spared the final insult of their failure. That they do not want to have to give up their hospitals and be taken out of the game of wheeling and dealing with politicians.

I've thought about things like this happening at my parish as society turns more against the Church. Does anyone know some basics about what kind of legal resistance can be offered to protesters in a church?

In Russia, they arrested them and sentenced them to two years in jail.
