It's all relative.

Eggs come from chickens. Chickens are considered white meat (poultry).

Eggs are just unborn chickens, no?

I know that we cannot eat gravy on Fridays. Or a meat based (beef or chicken) broth.

Unfertilised eggs are not meat but they have almost as many calories as a common steak, I believe.
