"And not for them only do I pray, but for them also who through their word shall believe in me; That they all may be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou hast given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, as we also are one: I in them, and thou in me; that they may be made perfect in one: and the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast also loved me."
May the Lord bless and keep the Copts, and bring them into His fold.

Pope Tawadros II, the new head of the Coptic orthodox Church, is threatening to withdraw Coptic representatives from the Constituent Assembly, the 100 member committee entrusted with the task of drafting a new Egyptian constitution, over the concerns that the new constitution will grant an even greaater role to Sharia law. Five of the 100 members of the Constituent Assembly are Copts.

There was a meeting planned between coptic Pope Tawadros II and a delegation of representatives from the Catholic churches. However because of the unrest it has been postponed. Let us pray for unity among the Christians in Egypt.
