China's government controlled Catholic bishops' conference has revoked its recognition for Bishop Thaddeus Ma Daqin as an auxilliary of the Shanghai diocese, in the latest in a series of punishments for the bishop after he resigned from the Catholic Patriotic Association.

This is incredible. China now prints a lot of material for various Catholic publishers throughout the world. A nun at a Pauline Bookshop in India told me that even some of the country's altar missals are now printed in China.

I have a feeling the time is coming when even in the US we will know the good Bishops by their death or imprisonment.

I have a feeling you won't need that list printed in China. You will be able to write it on a postage stamp I suspect.

Archbishop Savio Hon Tai-Fai, the secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, rel;eased a statement regarding the recent decision by the so-called Conference of Catholic Bishops of China and the Patriotic Catholic Association to withdraw approval of Bishop Thaddeus Ma Daquin.
