What's up for supper
Tonight's supper is vegetarian chili, made with fresh tomatoes from our garden (now sadly feeling the effects of the impending advent of autumn!), and a salad made from more tomatoes, lettuce, kale, and purple and green basil, all also from our garden. My salad, only, will be dressed with a homemade vinaigrette, since my DVW doesn't like any dressing on her salad.

Supper tonight will be vegetarian burritos (I ate meat last night at the free community supper) made with TVP 'pepperoni' that the DVW made on Sunday, along with probably the last batch of fresh salsa made with the produce of our garden.. I've mashed the beans and chopped the onion, so we're good to go!

Tonight's supper is a vegetarian pizza (it is a day of abstinence, after all!), made with vegetarian 'pepperoni' that my Dear Vegetarian Wife found a recipe for. And, we'll have a glass of that cabernet.

Tonight's supper was an experiment which turned out quite tasty! We had chili last night, the recipe for which was based on a no longer extant chili parlour in Kansas City, KS. It doesn't have tomatoes in it, just beans and, in our case, TVP meat substitute. It was so good, that I had a second bowl, as a result of which, there wasn't enough left for a full meal tonight.

So, my DVW hit upon the idea of chili pizza. I chopped some onion and green pepper, she spread the chili on a pizza crust, added the veggies, and sprinkled the whole thing liberally with shredded cheese. It was delicious!

Just got back from the community supper. We had penne baked in tomato sauce with hamburger, garlic bread, and salad. I had a kolache for dessert.
