"Dear Friends of Keep The Faith,

On Wednesday, January 23, a wonderful Catholic homeschooling family in Virginia lost their home to an accidental roof fire. Thanks be to God, Jan and Stephen Hollingshead and their thirteen children were out safely before the house came down, but they are currently living in a motel until permanent housing can be secured.

Jan’s brother tells us that the family lost literally ALL their belongings in the fire save the clothes on their backs and Jan's cell phone. They even lost their shoes! You can read more about the fire here and here

Many of their friends have asked how they can offer help, and for that the family are eternally grateful, as they have thirteen children to provide for.

Please keep them in your prayers and consider helping them as a Corporal Work of Mercy as well.

As you can imagine, the family’s greatest material need right now is simply money. If you can help in that regard, you can easily donate online through a site created with the help of their friends to get them through this – There you can send the family a donation just as though you were making an online purchase.

For those who might prefer to make a donation or send a note of support or spiritual bouquet, the following addresses can be used to reach them quickly and securely:

St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church
271 Winchester Street
Warrenton, VA 20186
Make checks payable to "St. John the Evangelist Church" and put "FOR THE HOLLINGSHEADS" in the comment line.

Also - Stephen's parents are in daily contact with the Hollingshead family. Anyone wishing to send help and not wanting to use PayPal can send their gift to them and they will quickly get it to Stephen and Jan.

Gary and Ruth Hollingshead
1950 O'Day Road
Pearland, TX 77581

It will only take a minute, but donations of whatever size will be both welcome and inspirational at this time of unusual and urgent need for this family. Given the situation, the need for help will continue for some time, as well as the need for continued prayers."
