Pope resigning

Just something that you can give up the helm of when you've had enough?

I always thought about the Papcy a bit like Baptism - you can't unmake yourself Pope any more than you can unmake yourself Baptised; it's something that happened and imprinted an indelible supernatural mark upon you.  Is that wrong?  Perhaps a lack of understanding of Canon law here or something?

CIC, 1983 Wrote:Canon 332 §2. If it happens that the Roman Pontiff resigns his office, it is required for validity that the resignation is made freely and properly manifested but not that it is accepted by anyone.
