Everyone sign up..... make this lent traditional. Fast/abstinence every day save Sundays, for the intentions of our outgoing pontiff and the outcome of the upcoming conclave.

I'm in. Maybe we could all pray something in common each day, or on a certain day of the week, with the conclave in mind. This could be definitive.

Perhaps either the Collect from the Votive Mass for the Propagation of the Faith: Quote:Deus, qui omnes homines vis salvos fieri, et ad agnitionem veritatis venire: mitte, quaesumus, operarios in messem tuam, et da eis cum omni fiducia loqui verbum tuum; ut sermo tuus currat, et clarificetur, et omnes gentes cognoscant te solum Deum verum, et quem misisti Iesum Christum Filium tuum Dominum nostrum, qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitate Spiritus Sancti, Deus, per omnia saecula saeculorum. Amen. Or, the Collect from the Votive Mass of the Holy Ghost: Quote:Deus, qui corda fidelium Sancti Spiritus illustratione docuisti: da nobis in eodem Spiritu recta sapere; et de eius semper consolatione gaudere. Per Dominum nostrum Iesum Christum Filium tuum, qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitate eiusdem Spiritus Sancti, Deus, per omnia saecula saeculorum. Amen.

I'm in. I think everyone knows this but just in case someone doesn't, those in poor health can substitute some other sacrifice(s), for the traditional fast and abstinence.

I like the Collect from the Votive Mass for the Propagation of the Faith - maybe we could each say that on a Wednesday? What do you guys think

Both collects sound excellent. Someone should make a facebook group out of this.

re. FB, I've decided to cut down on my use of FB drastically (once a week to check up on emails) over Lent. Maybe we could just use this thread? I like how it'll have a communal dimension. Also glad to have Fisheaters to talk about this - the priest at our parish (admittedly, a very old man who doesn't get out much) didn't even mention the pope's announcement at mass today.
