Our Lady of Lourdes
#1
On this date in 1858, Our Lady appeared to the future St. Bernadette and left a spring where many people were cured of incurable diseases. Our Lady of Lourdes, ora pro nobis!

Good flick. Jennifer Jones won the Academy Award for her role as St. Bernadette.

Here's a guy many say has the voice of an angel, and through his mother and wife rturned to the Church. This song makes me think Our Lady had a hand in it too ! Linda sings pretty well too.

When this movie came out, my mother's entire school walked over to see it. All  the nuns went and all the kids went in their uniforms ofcourse. She was in 7th grade, they were responsible for hold the hands of the 1rst graders for safety.

Considering how terrible we wound Our Lady by how we treat her Son, it is nothing short of a heavenly, miraculous, love that she has for us, to give us the stream that has healed so many. Back when I was very sick, if the chemo didn't work, she was going to take me there.

St. Bernadette is my Confirmation saint. I chose her because she had asthma like me. She was held back because of her constant illnesses, as a child and a nun. People thought she was faking her illnesses and thought she was worthless because of them. And yet she obtained, through the grace of God, perfection.

Nice song by Aaron Neville.  That's a St. Jude Medal hanging from his left ear, who he has credited for his success and survival.
