Truly monstrous, and yes, an indication of how far our society has fallen. Just today at the supermarket, I was struck by so many signs of that fall, but I guess the worst of them still tend to stay hidden, more or less. I don't remember seeing this make the national news, not that I really keep up with it. But as a college student, I really so much on "processed"/convenient foods. I wonder how bad it really is. Sadly, I doubt I'll have time to do real research. I will try to stay away, but I wonder how much I'll end up patronizing these horrible companies, anyway. *sigh* Oh, if only I could drop it all and fly away to some distant convent!
