Good book on history of the Church...recommendations?

A Complete History of the Catholic Church to the Present Day – Fr. John Laux

I've seen traditional minded priests recommend this one.  It was written a long time ago, so "Present Day" needs to be taken with a grain of salt to be sure.
 

This. It is quite good at giving a broad historical perspective of the Church.

Agreed.  I read it about ten years ago, but that is my recollection.
