Easter week question
We all know that there are extra alleluias during Mass during the Easter Season.  My question has to do with Easter week.  Does any one know why the double alleluia is added to the Ite Missa Est, Deo Gratias?  Thank you.
Because it is Easter. The joy of Easter is so great that we have the double allelujia. The Resurrection of Jesus from the dead is so momentious that it merits extra joy.
:) :) :)
Like Poche said, because it's Easter. The same thing happens at the end of the hours in the Office - the double alleluia is added to the Benedicamus Domino/Deo Gratias as well.
