actually, they are married to the Church, the Bride of Christ.  A priest is "another Christ" not espoused to Christ.

I dunno... the mainstream media is running with it, not that they haven't been fooled before.

That being said, I have heard of things like this before, especially from Italy where priests having children with women seems to be a reoccurring problem. So I didn't question it when I heard it in the mainstream media.

"Eye of the Tiber" takes real life news stories and lampoons them. Also, the Internet has a way of using sensationalism in reporting, sort of like the National Enquirer, which makes stories like these always seem suspect.

These priests are liars and betrayers of their promises, there is nothing "natural" about that. Why these women put themselves in such situation?
I know for a fact that there are more men in the world, why then go after priests? Doesn't that look a bit diabolical? It reminds one of the sort of bad women that is described in the wisdom books.

Besides, are these women 12 years old? I mean, everybody has a love story gone wrong, this does not mean we must make a petition for the Church to change.

If it is a discipline as you say, then the Pope could also turn around and demand Celibacy for the Eastern Churches to unify with Western practice.
