Two Bishops Throw Their Faithful Flocks Under The Bus To Appease The World

So, would it be asking to much for our Bishops, some of them at least, to actually stand firm? To uphold the Faith?

Msgr. Charles Pope quoted* an excellent sermon from Pope Gregory the Great, excoriating weak preachers who are silent
for fear of offense or rejection. I can't find quite the right quotation at the moment, but here's a taste:

4. But if we cannot preach as efficiently as we
ought, would that by innocence of life we held
the rank that befits our office. For the Gospel
adds, " Behold I send you as lambs among wolves."
Now there are many who, when placed in authority,
show themselves eager to rend their subjects ;
they use their power to terrify, and they injure
those to whom it was their duty to do good. And
not possessing the bowels of chanty they seek to
appear as masters, and forget that they are fathers ;
and, instead of governing in the spirit of humility,
they domineer in the spirit of pride ; and if at
times their outward acts are gentle, their hearts
within are full of passion. Of them Truth says
in another place, " They come to you in the clothing
of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves "
(Matth. vii. 15).

It's not like they're being tortured or threatened with being shot; though we're called to endure even that, one could understand human weakness capitulating to the tortures the great martyrs have been subjected to. But someone's feelings got hurt because someone spoke the truth to them, and then they go and complain to the bishops who can't move fast enough to deny Catholic truth and deprive a faithful Catholic of her livelihood just to appease the perpetually aggrieved. Disgusting.

In the good old days, these horrible, nasty, vile creatures who masquerade as bishops would have been lynched. I'm glad I will never meet any of them, because I'm sure I would do something awful.

"The floor of hell is covered with the skulls of bishops."

They bear a great burden and will face judgement as all of us.  All we can do is pray for them and remain true to our convictions.
