Righto, fellas, you can all come back and play now. I've had a wash so that should make me slightly less odious.

Any discussion of sanctity and sin, associated praise and blame, good and evil related to the human condition, almost inevitably gets round to a discussion of free will and predestination.

It's all rather interesting because some of the most famous doctors and scholars have resorted to some amazing mental gymnastics trying to reconcile the two.

Any takers? (Don't worry, the Missus has burned my soap box so I'm grounded until I can find another).

If I were a Latin theologian, I would definitely be a Molinist, so if I'm remembering what you've said in the past correctly, I think this is one point on which we agree.

I didn't mean it negatively.  I just mean an Easterner probably would not call themselves a Molinist anymore than a Roman Catholic would call themselves an Arminian.

Ah, yes, The Creed.  Well, the Roman Catholics have theirs, the Orthodox have theirs, and we Eastern Catholics, embracing the very best of both worlds, have both! :grin: :LOL:  Maybe we can spend another millenium or two arguing about who's "right" and who's "wrong".  I wonder if God will ask of us at the Last Judgment, "Well, kiddo, which Creed did YOU recite?  Think carefully, now, your eternity hinges on getting the answer 'right'". ???
