St. Dismas: The Penitent Thief
#1
I don't listen to Audio Sancto that frequently (I know...), but whenever I do, I am usually humbled and inspired. This is a very moving homily about St. Dismas, the penitent thief. According to St. Anselm, despite the life of sin that Dismas lived, he never let go of the promise that Mary once gave that She would intercede for him before his death. As the legend goes, during the Holy Family's exodus into Egypt, Dismas planned to rob them. However, once he beheld the Christ Child, all he could do was pledge his protection. For his services, Mary left him with Her promise--a promise that She made good on as she beheld Dismas dying on a cross. As an aside, I have often thought that if I could be one person in history, it would have to be St. Dismas. Imagine hearing from Christ Himself that you would join him in Paradise. This story only adds to that.

Remember to pray three ave's for the priest if you listen to this homily.

I named my favorite cat Dismas.  Grin Right after he stole a package of King's Hawaiian rolls from the kitchen and brought it upstairs to my room to eat it.  LOL

There is SO MUCH I need to add! This site isn't even close to being done. I just haven't had much time to work on it! But I have a long, LONG list of things that need to be on FE!
