Any Spiritual Reading for this Lenten Season?

I am looking for some good recommendations for spiritual reading!  I have gotten slack in my spiritual life, and am wondering what the fish tank would recommend!  Just spiritual works, lives of the saints, theology, church history, etc., etc.

Any and all recommendations are greatly appreciated!

You can't go wrong with Scripture.

I've been reading The Interior Castle by St. Teresa of Avila and it's very good.

I plan on reading from the New Testament each day and being more strict on keeping the hours from my Prayerbook. It's easier said than done. I'll also try to keep the fast to best of my ability.

Every Lent I thought about doing extra devotional/spiritual reading, but most Catholic literature goes way above my understanding...or attention span. My priest's homily today about praying during Lent is not to give up and pray even harder...easier said than done! The more complicated I make my prayer schedule the less likely I'm to pray at all. I've been trying to simplify but I'm not sure how.

I thought about reading "The Day Christ Died" by Jim Bishop the past few seasons of Lent but can never find the attention span to do so. I just watch Mel Gibson's "The Passion of Christ" instead.

I am familiar with Bishop Bossuet. He was a student of St Vincent de Paul, and a major figure in the French School of Spirituality in the late 17th century. I just bought it for Kindle. Obviously haven't had time to read it, but it is laid out on a daily basis, beginning with Ash Wednesday. I think it will be my meditation book this Lent, along with re-reading True Devotion to Mary by St Louis-Marie de Montfort.
