I wonder what St. John Bosco would think of his Salesian cardinal. For that matter, I wonder what he would think of the current pope who attended a Salesian school.

Pope Francis and his followers are quite authoritarian in their way of leading the Church. According to them it is okay to be a practicing homosexual (who am I to judge), the existence of different religions is a gift of God, true Islam is a non-violent religion and it is a grave sin to try to convert an Orthodox, it is also a grave sin to try to convert the jews and even being an atheist is not really a problem because an atheist can go to heaven...but demanding that the Church is obedient to the Tradition equals being a pharisee and pelagian. Makes sense.

Yes but we must never even come close to falling into the error of Sedevacantism, which is apostasy. Indeed the Sedevacantist error is more apostate that anything we can accuse Pope Francis of doing, in my opinion.

Why do you think so? I am not a Sedevacantist but - emotionally - I understand their position. It is a desperate attempt to remain catholic. The modernists simply lost their faith.

It's hardly apostasy, which is the complete rejection of the Christian faith. At most, it's schism.

It is not sedevacantism to dislike the pope, or to believe that he is making decisions and statements that are seriously harmful to people's faith. We must respect the office of the Pope, even if the one holding it doesn't seem to respect it.
That being said, at some point the confusion caused by Pope Francis will have to be addressed. I'm sure at least some blame will be pointed directly at him eventually. It may not happen while he is still pope. It may not even happen in my lifetime, but I believe with all my heart that he is causing serious scandal and is confusing those whose faith is weak. He will have to make an account for that, most especially because he truly is the pope.
