My brother

My brother and I were raised Catholic, albeit the post-V2 hippie variety. We talked last night, and he's considering leaving the Faith. He's not sure if he believes in transubstantiation, and considers the Church to be far removed from what Christ taught. I tried reasoning with him, but he's about as headstrong as me. He's considering starting his own "church" where people "love and take care of each other and the poor" (his words), despite my point that this is what the Church is about.

I want creation to penetrate you with so much admiration that wherever you go, the least plant may bring you clear remembrance of the Creator.  A single plant, a blade of grass, or one speck of dust is sufficient to occupy all your intelligence in beholding the art with which it has been made  - Saint Basil

Heaven is under our feet, as well as over our heads. - Thoreau, Walden
