My Dad's Cancer is Back
#1
Please pray for my Dad.  He will be 80 this Christmas.  His prostate cancer is back.

Please especially pray for his soul.  He had affairs and divorced my Mom after 40 years of marriage.

My Mom applied for an annulment and it was denied.

Fifteen years ago my Dad's parish pastor "married" him and one of his new girlfriends at morning mass one day.  My brother says the pastor encouraged this because it was clear they were "in love".

My Dad claims that a bishop at the Vatican gave him permission for this.  (He is well connected but I don't know if this is really true.)

Anyway, it's a mess and I'm worried about his soul. :/

Please pray for him and the priest who "married" them.

Oh, and to make things worse, he was a big time leader in the Charismatic movement in the Church.  He continued to give retreats on the Catechism and was the Catechism teacher at his parish and prepares the children to receive the sacraments.  (I'm concerned about the souls of those children! Who knows what he taught them? :/ )

Anyway, this makes the scandal involved even more grave. :(

Will your dad accept a sacramental like a green or brown scapular or a Miraculous Medal?

I'll pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet for him and the priest.

That's a good idea.  He wouldn't wear a scapular but I'll send him a Miraculous Medal.

It's hard because I haven't seen him for twenty years, since my husband and I moved away with our kids.

He never got to meet two of my kids.

I can't travel now so I'll never see him again. :(

*hugs* I will certainly add him to my prayer intentions. I am sorry you are all going through this.
