That does seem like a good idea.  I'd imagine that there is a Tridentine Vespers and an NO Vespers, or something Vatican II-esque.  Any thoughts on that?

Peace....sometimes one can see/hear  irreverant things around us at the NO Mass and still be reverent ourself, however if you are taking children, they may pick up these habits.  For me, I was bothered by the low-cut tops on women with shorts taking communion out of the tabernacle to take to a home visit.  There was also too much joking and fooling around from the pulpit - too much like entertainment and comedy night.  I noticed people (not all) receiving communion and chewing it like bubble gum.  Drinking bottled water in the pews - which I can understand if someone is choking, but it became habitual and started spreading.  I noticed one girl once, after Mass was over and people left, to be sitting on the back portion of the pew with her feet on the seat - her mother was the guitar player, so nobody would say anything.  Too much talking out loud even when it is obvious before or after Mass that people are praying or adoring Jesus.  People being called up at smaller gatherings to help themselves take communion left on the altar while the priest is sitting in his seat.  Somehow, protestant hymns were slowly getting into the music ministry.  For some people, this type of thing can happen once and seem not so bad, however others see it increasing in several ways and start getting very annoyed.  This, along with the history and current events of the day in our Universal Church/Liturgy, bring it to a head and they want out.  This is brief, but you will get the point.  God bless, angeltime

I don't have any children that I'd be taking as of right now, though at some point I'd love to take my young godson.  Other than the lax dress code at every NO Mass I've been to, I've not noticed any of the other things, but I do not pay too much attention to the things around me at times.  I'll have start taking note of these kinds of things, see what might be happening with others attending the Mass.

So your going to pay attention to other and not Jesus during the mass?  Who cares about what someone else is doing or wearimg?  You can't do anything about it.  I mean if someone  is dressed immodest are you really going to confront her about it?  Does a random parishioners dress affect how reverent the mass is?  What are you wanting.  The priest to publicly bar this person from mass?  Should we start shunning people and tell them they are not worthy enough to attend mass

also people need to stop acting like everyone at  tlm dresses reverently.  why can people not stop worrying about everyone else's  holyness and instead worry about their own.   worry about yourself and your sins and stop worry about others sins.

I never said what you have accused me of.  I did not call the people at NO sinners, regardless of how they dress.  I have no interest in "confronting" anyone over a dress code.  I did not say I wouldn't pay attention to Jesus at Mass, only that I'd try to note how others at the Mass conduct themselves.  I do have a right to expect some reverence at a Mass.  I am not concerned with judging anyone there, however, as that is for Jesus to do, not me.  I am concerned about my own sins and my own salvation, that's why I am asking a pretty simple question about how to find a good NO Mass.

Noting what others do has absolutely no bearing on the mass.  Last I checked what a person who is not the priest does at mass has absolutely no effect of the masses reverence, validity of licitnsss.  Just like if some person came to tlm dressed i modest it does it effect that mass.

Stop worrying  about others during mass.  That is on them.  It's not you.  It's not your responsibility.  If your taking note of others your to occupied with others sins.

#excuse the horrible spelling, I am on an iPad and my fingers are to buy for the keyboard on screen

This might be valid in some cases and not others.  Someone dressed in street clothes is not distracting to me, for as I said before, I seldom take notice of the people around me.  My concern is not with their sins, as I do not know if they are sinning, for how can I know what their intent is in their manner of dress or other conduct, or their knowledge in this area, too?  But someone playing a loud app on their smartphone, close enough that the noise can distract me?  I'd say that is a problem for me.  Again, I do not know if the person doing this is sinning, I cannot judge them but their behavior is distracting and not appropriate in the Mass.  I've noticed most of the people doing that kind of thing are teens and young adults, and perhaps have not been taught better.  I try to assume charitable things about others.

This discussion is starting to become off-topic.  I will take into account that you have said but if there is more to add to this question, that is, proper attire for Mass (that, for the most part, is not what I was asking) and how much, if any attention, we should pay to a distraction at Mass is best handled in another thread.  I'm happy to participate in that thread, should you like to start it.  Otherwise, I'd like to focus on my OP, which is about finding a good NO Mass.  Thank you, and please remember me in your prayers. :)

And no worries about spelling errors.  I can't type on an iPad, period. :D
