Haydock Commentary
#1
The site that formerly hosted the Haydock Commentary (http://haydock1859.tripod.com/) has been down for some time now, and the Tripod landing page indicates the site has been removed permanently.

The Commentary is presently available on the Internet Wayback Machine (https://web.archive.org/web/201801300802...ripod.com/); however, I don't like to rely on that because I have seen sites disappear from the Wayback Machine.

Does anyone know if there is a new site for the Haydock Commentary? Or how to contact the person/people who did such a fantastic job on the old site. If I can get the HTML source files, I am willing to create and maintain a site for it.

Thanks,
Jerry

Thanks, Jovan! That appears to be a very useful site! By default, only the commentary is displayed. Do you know if there is an option to display the full Scriptural text on the side, as with the old site?

I do not. I only discovered the site a day or two ago and I haven't actually used it yet. I was looking for commentary on Apocalypse 12:1, I did a search, and voila!, there it was.

Look up the passage on drbo.org. I find it easier to have the passage in question on a different page anyway. That way I can easily copy and paste it into another window, such as a forum post or a word document. I also find it easier to read the passage and the accompanying commentary when they are on separate windows if I’m reading them with my phone, because I can read more without scrolling.

The Haydock bible is actually different than the Douay-Rheims bible: http://www.realdouayrheims.com/

Perhaps so, but you won't get very far using sites like that as a source.
