Resisting the Dark Church foretold by Venerable Emmerich...

Resisting the demonic Dark Church foretold by Venerable Ann Catherine Emmerich - see here.

Ten years ago, and several years before Francis stepped onto the world stage, I wrote a post for this Blog in which I said, "...masonic forces seek to subvert the Church from within and to create a "new church" created in the image and likeness of man.  The new humanitarian religion will result from a quiet revolution within the Church.

This new religion will be anti-supernatural.  And it will embrace the Socialistic New World Order and the Reign of Antichrist.  This is the false church Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich saw in her visions.

Father Emmanuel Barbier, a well-known anti-modernist and anti-masonic author, transcribed a document dated April 3, 1844, in which a high-ranking leader of Italian masonic forces called Nubius explains to another highly-placed mason how the quiet revolution will work.  He writes, "Now then, in order to ensure a pope in the required proportions, we must first of all prepare a generation worthy of the kingdom of which we dream...

Cast aside the old men and men of a mature age; go to the youth, and if possible, even to children...It is to the youth that we must go, it is the youth that we must lead, unperceived by them, under the flag of the secret societies.  In order to advance with prudent steps on this dangerous but sure way, two things are absolutely necessary.  You must have the simplicity of doves and the prudence of the serpent...Never pronounce before them a word of impiety or impurity: Maxima debetur puero reverentia...Once your reputation has been established in colleges, high schools, universities, and seminaries, once you have gained the confidence of professors and students, make sure that especially those who enter the ranks of the clergy be pleased with your meetings...

Such reputation will give your doctrine access to the young clergy and to convents.  In a few years, this clergy will naturally have invaded all functions: they will govern, administer, judge, from the Sovereign's council, be called to choose the Pontiff who must reign; and this Pontiff, like most of his contemporaries, will be more or less imbued with Italian and humanitarian principles that we will start placing in circulation...Let the clergy move forward under your standard always believing they are advancing under the banner of the apostolic Keys.  Cast your net like Simon Bar Jonas; spread it to the bottom of sacristies, seminaries, and convents, rather than casting it to the bottom of the sea; if you do not precipitate anything, we promise you a catch even more miraculous than his...

You will have fished a revolution dressed in the Pope's triple crown and cape, carrying the cross and the flag, a revolution that will need only a small stimulus to set fire to the four corners of the earth." (Nubius, Secret Instructions on the Conquest of the Church, excerpted from Les infiltrations maconiques dans l'Eglise, Paris/Brussels: Desclee de Brouwer, 1901, p. 5).

Meditation: John 5:43.

Father Linus Clovis makes the point that,“Obedience is owed to the pope, but the pope owes obedience to the word and the apostolic tradition. We have to obey the pope, but the pope himself must obey the written word. He must obey the tradition. He must respond to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Obedience is owed to the pope, but it is the duty of the pope to give the character of possibility to this obedience. The pope has to facilitate our obeying him, by himself being obedient to the Word of God. Pope Felix III told us, ‘an error that is not resisted is approved. A truth that is not defended is suppressed.’ So we have an obligation to resist error, and we must do everything that we can to promote the truth.”  Father Clovis made this remark in response to the crisis in the Church and the role of Pope Francis in this crisis.

"The apostasy of the city of Rome from the vicar of Christ and its destruction by Antichrist may be thoughts very new to many Catholics, that I think it well to recite the text of theologians of greatest repute. First Malvenda, who writes expressly on the subject, states as the opinion of Ribera, Gaspar Melus, Biegas, Suarrez, Bellarmine and Bosius that Rome shall apostatize from the Faith, drive away the Vicar of Christ and return to its ancient paganism. ...Then the Church shall be scattered, driven into the wilderness, and shall be for a time, as it was in the beginning, invisible; hidden in catacombs, in dens, in mountains, in lurking places; for a time it shall be swept, as it were from the face of the earth. Such is the universal testimony of the Fathers of the early Church.”- Henry Edward Cardinal Manning, The Present Crisis of the Holy See, 1861, London: Burns and Lambert, pp. 88-90)

Cardinal Manning delivered a series of lectures in 1861 under the title “The Present Crises of the Holy See Tested by Prophecy” in which Manning he foresaw a future crises in the Roman Catholic Church initiated by a false ecumenism and progressivist theology that many orthodox Catholics have loathed following the Second Vatican Council. Manning believed that this progressivist current would undermine the authority of the Church and ultimately result in a departure from the true faith by the nations together with the displacement of the true pope by a false prophet, thus ushering in the Antichrist and global apostasy. Manning also believed secret societies like the Freemasons were part of this conspiracy. “The secret societies have long ago undermined and honeycombed the Christian society of Europe, and are at this moment struggling onward towards Rome, the center of all Christian order in the world,”he wrote. But when he looked at the prophecy in Revelation 18 concerning the end-time destruction of Mystery Babylon, Manning saw it was the hand of God in judgment of worldwide apostasy emanating from Rome:
"We read in the Book Apocalypse, of the city of Rome, that she said in the pride of her heart, “I sit as a queen, and am no widow, and sorrow I shall not see. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day: death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be burned with fire, because God is strong who shall judge her.” Some of the greatest writers of the Church tell us that…the great City of Seven Hills…the city of Rome will probably become apostate…and that Rome will again be punished, for he will depart from it; and the judgment of God will fall…"

Manning explained how many of Catholicism’s greatest theologians agreed with this point of view:

"The apostasy of the city of Rome…and its destruction by Antichrist may be thoughts so new to many Catholics, that I think it well to recite the text of theologians, of greatest repute. First, Malvenda, who writes expressly on the subject, states as the opinion of Ribera, Gaspar Melus, Viegas, Suarez, Bellarmine, and Bosius, that Rome shall apostatize from the faith, drive away the Vicar of Christ, and return to its ancient paganism. Malvenda’s words are:
'But Rome itself in the last times of the world will return to its ancient idolatry, power, and imperial greatness. It will cast out its Pontiff, altogether apostatize from the Christian faith, terribly persecute the Church, shed the blood of martyrs more cruelly than ever, and will recover its former state of abundant wealth, or even greater than it had under its first rulers.'
Lessius says: 'In the time of Antichrist, Rome shall be destroyed, as we see openly from the thirteenth chapter of the Apocalypse;' and again: 'The woman whom thou sawest is the great city, which hath kingdom over the kings of the earth, in which is signified Rome in its impiety, such as it was in the time of St. John, and shall be again at the end of the world.'
And Bellarmine: 'In the time of Antichrist, Rome shall be desolated and burnt, as we learn from the sixteenth verse of the seventeenth chapter of the Apocalypse.' On which words the Jesuit Erbermann comments as follows: 'We all confess with Bellarmine that the Roman people, a little before the end of the world, will return to paganism, and drive out the Roman Pontiff.'

Viegas, on the eighteenth chapter of the Apocalypse says: 'Rome, in the last age of the world, after it has apostatized from the faith, will attain great power and splendor of wealth, and its sway will be widely spread throughout the world, and flourish greatly. Living in luxury and the abundance of all things, it will worship idols, and be steeped in all kinds of superstition, and will pay honor to false gods. And because of the vast effusion of the blood of martyrs which was shed under the emperors, God will most severely and justly avenge them, and it shall be utterly destroyed, and burned by a most terrible and afflicting conflagration.'"

It was Saint John Bosco who prophesied, "And to you, Rome, what will happen! Ungrateful Rome, effeminate Rome, proud Rome! You have reached such a height that you search no further. You admire nothing else in your Sovereign except luxury, forgetting that you and your glory stands upon Golgotha. Now he is old, defenseless, and despoiled; and yet at his word, the word of one who was in bondage, the whole world trembles.

Rome! To you I will come four times.

The first time, I shall strike your lands and the inhabitants thereof.

The second time, I shall bring the massacre and the slaughter even to your very walls. And will you not yet open your eyes?

I shall come a third time and I shall beat down to the ground your defenses and the defenders, and at the command of the Father, the reign of terror, of dreadful fear, and of desolation shall enter into your city.

But My wise men have now fled and My law is even now trampled underfoot. Therefore I will make a fourth visit. Woe to you if My law shall still be considered as empty words. There will be deceit and falsehood among both the learned and the ignorant. Your blood and that of your children will wash away your stains upon God's law. War, pestilence and famine are the rods to scourge men's pride and wickedness. O wealthy men, where is your glory now, your estates, your palaces? They are the rubble on the highways and byways.

And your priests, why have you not run to 'cry between the vestibule and the Altar,' begging God to end these scourges? Why have you not, with the shield of faith, gone upon the housetops, into the homes, along the highways and byways, into every accessible corner to carry the seed of My word? Know you that this is the terrible two-edged sword that cuts down My enemies and breaks the Anger of God and of men?"
In our own time, the germ ideas of a one-world religion are already being sowed. And this false humanitarian religion will burst into poisonous flower when enough hearts have grown cold and have abandoned the true religion. As Jane Le Royer explained in prophecy: "When the time of the Antichrist is near, a false religion will appear which will be opposed to the unity of God and His Church. This will cause the greatest schism the world has ever known."

Can you not see the emerging signs? How do we find the Church today? The Mystical Body of the Crucified One - the Holy Catholic Church - is climbing Calvary, carrying a heavy cross. She is experiencing the hour of abandonment and betrayal. Her body is being tormented by the scourges of sin which strike at it and by numerous sacrileges which open up deep wounds in it. A Catholic priest in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts openly calls her "evil" just as the Pharisees suggested Our Lord was evil and demon possessed (Matthew 11:18; 12: 24). And his parishioners applaud.

Indeed, Our Lady told Father Gobbi,"The hour of Calvary has arrived for the Church, called to offer herself in holocaust and to be immolated on the cross of her bloody martyrdom. The hour of Calvary has arrived for this poor humanity, which is already beginning to live the painful hours of its chastisement..' (Rome, May 1, 1994).

But too many are proud. Their eyes blinded by sin and egoism. Like the Pharisees before them, they are incapable of reading the signs of the times because their spiritual eyes are closed. They cannot hear the Spirit because their ears are closed. They cannot feel the promptings of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus because their hearts are closed. Such people cannot endure sound teaching but have itching ears and will continue to accumulate teachers who suit their own likings, teachers who will cater to their lusts by providing them with myths (2 Timothy 4: 3, 4).

And still so many of our shepherds remain silent like mute dogs. They have not begged God to end these scourges. They have not wept between the vestibule and the altar. They have not taken up the shield of faith to protect their flocks. Their judgment will be all the more severe, for God expects more from His ministers (Luke 12: 48).

And a "part two" for you on what to do:

Heaven Knows!

It has been hard to post anything up here for a few days, due to my own commitments around here and to the sheer scale of events happening in the Church.

I was in the process of writing a piece to respond to the widespread apostasy of so many bishops and priests, but began to think it was just too negative, and would merely add to all the ''white noise'' of similar information which is emerging all across the globe.

Truly these days appear to be apocalyptic.

Then, we were suddenly broadsided when we read in our weekly free newspaper that another local priest is to go to court; this time over allegations of historical sex offences against children.

Regular readers will recall that Holy Week became a real crucifixion for us here, when the same local paper described the gory details of a court case involving another local priest - a man from the next parish to my parents, who regularly offered the Traditional Latin Mass and who had even blessed our home when we first got married - had been found guilty of visiting internet chat-rooms to view children being sexually abused and of adding comments on them about what he would like to do to children himself. Although we have made an act of the will to forgive this man, it is taking a while for the feelings of forgiveness to catch up. We are so sickened by the sheer gravity of his crimes and of his duplicity. What a grim betrayal it all is of the families in his own pastoral care.

And now we and our neighbours read that a man who served for years as parish priest in this very neighbourhood is now to appear in court relating to accusations of seven cases of indecent assault against two young boys, which are claimed to have happened between 1980 and 1982.

Same deanery, another priest.

My poor parents went regularly to this guy's Mass for several years!

Although that case has yet to be heard, I am just sick and tired of hearing of cardinals, bishops and priests betraying Christ, undermining the faithful and gravely harming the innocent children who they are supposed to be leading to Heaven.

Yesterday morning, I read Steve Skojec's piece at 1 Peter 5, and I could relate very much to what he was saying there. The comments section also revealed once again how so many Catholics all around the world are feeling the same; whilst dissenting post-Catholic Modernists have seized the levers of power and are vigorously attempting to deconstruct the Church while they still have the time.

Every day, the upcoming Amazonian Synod, the Youth Synod and the World Day of Families look more and more like blown-open bridgeheads for the anti-Church to wreak its ''synodal'' havoc. It's like the KGB-handled Medellin Conference has come back on steroids!

Look, when even Ettore Gotti Tedeschi, the former head of the Vatican Bank, is saying, as LifeSiteNews reported this week, that the ''authors of the New World Order demographic collapse'' are influencing the Vatican, then it is beyond time for us all to pay attention and get praying and working to defend the Faith.

Yesterday, I especially felt sad for a guy called Bob from Ohio, who said at 1 Peter 5 that events were causing him mental anguish, due to the evils in the Church, the impossibility for him to reach a Traditional Latin Mass and the errors he has to put up with in his own local parish.

For everyone who is suffering with Christ in His Passion through all of this - and what a grace that is, when you stop to think about it - then what follows is written by way of an encouragement to you. Yes, to all friends in Christ who read this, all those who Our Blessed Lord has chosen to go through this night with Him, in ways and for reasons which we may not understand, in order to be part of the glorious Triumph of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

In the depths of spiritual struggle yesterday morning, quite out of the blue, I received a sudden realization that Heaven Knows!

With a renewed sense of understanding, I grasped once more that Heaven not only knows everything that is going on, but is ultimately going to draw a greater good from it, than you or I can even imagine.

In short, God intimately knows each and all of us and what we are enduring right now, for love of Him and His holy Church.

Emmanuel, God is with us: in our fears for the salvation of children and family members; anxieties about whether or not we ourselves will persevere in the Faith; concern that one's sacramental and prayer life seem to be under massive and sustained attack; at times herculean efforts to get to a regular Traditional Latin Mass; or distress that one cannot do so; frustration and even anger about what is happening to the Church and to society; the grim realization that so many people have not only now moved beyond faith in God, but even beyond any kind of rational discourse on matters of nature and morality; horrible feelings of futility; and financial and social pressures encountered in trying to remain faithful.

Yes, Our Lord Jesus Christ is with us in all of these things. We are safe with the Most Holy Trinity, with Our Blessed Lady, with Holy Michael and all the angels and saints; even if it does not feel like it.

God has got this.

So many people are speaking of such concerns in the comments of traditional websites, that it becomes clear that Our Lord is permitting this huge trial to test, purify and even increase His faithful remnant.

To suffer these things is truly a great grace; because it proves we are on the side of Christ and reveals who we really are in our depths.

May we never forget that it is because of God's grace that we believe in the first place. That shows a great deal of goodness from Him toward each of us to begin with. We have to learn to trust that He will bring to fruition and completion the good work that He has begun in us.

I think it also reveals that the enemy are working a general strategy to wear down the faithful.

This is where, after the Sacraments received worthily and with love, daily thanksgiving, regular reading of good spiritual content and times of silent prayer with Sacred Scripture are all important means to survive.

A verse which can also be particularly helpful is actually 1 Peter 5:9: ''Whom resist ye, strong in faith: knowing that the same affliction befalls your brethren who are in the world.''

And so yesterday, that sense of Heaven Knows, having broken in on me like a sunburst on a dismal day, remained with me throughout the afternoon. Even though strange spiritual attacks seemed to continue... I'm sure many of you are going through this.

Later that day, again quite unexpectedly, we found ourselves spending an hour in the company of two holy old priests who I have known for around two decades.

Aside from the various Traditional priests now working in this region, these men could be said to represent the very last of a line of priests who one still used to meet with about twenty years ago: men who grew up before the world went totally crazy; whose homes were secure and filled with faith; whose school education happened before the ''changes''; and whose seminary formation, though becoming shaky, took place largely before those changes wreaked their total devastation there.

As I say, twenty years ago, one still met priests of this sort offering Mass reverently, spreading devotion to Our Lady, praying the Rosary faithfully, caring for souls, spreading the faith and wearing their Roman collars and deepest black clerical attire as a matter of course.

There are a handful of younger clergy with many of these good qualities and the same overall intentions but, like you and me, they have grown up in the midst of the present culture and have gone through school and seminary education in the present era. That has taken its toll on all of us in our development.

Anyway, the two priests we were with yesterday represent, pretty much, the last of their generation. Certainly, of those that I know personally.

And, unexpectedly, there we were as a family spending an hour with them yesterday.

One of them, who has been further tested in the furnace of suffering of late, has spoken to me a few times over the years of one of his former mentors - the late, great convert priest, Fr. Hugh Thwaites. Father has described, in the past, how it was obvious that Fr. Thwaites was holy, because his eyes often sparkled with a love that could only be God's Love.

Now, although this priest I was with yesterday has looked increasingly holy for several years now, something happened yesterday that I have never seen before in him.

Or, indeed, in anyone else for that matter.

Whilst I was speaking to him yesterday, I suddenly saw something more than Father in his eyes.

It was as though he was reading my soul; so deeply did he look into it. But it was also as though he were not really focused on me at all. His eyes were sparkling like an innocent baby bird, but seemed also to perceive the very depths of reality. It was as though Christ were loving my soul through him. And, at once, it was as though Father was gazing at God to such an extent that the mess that is my soul was being seen only in the light of that mysterious sight. It was not judgement, not searing in that manner, and yet it was as though Christ Himself were there... Well, I cannot find the words here.

All that can be said is that Father seemed to be, just for a minute, more in the next world than in this. And it gave me great peace to encounter it.

And then it clicked into place again: Heaven Knows!

Yes, God is with us.

Aside from that experience yesterday, just being with those two old-boy priests felt like it did years ago, before 2013, to be a Catholic.

I guess we are all fed up to the back teeth of hearing of clerical apostasy, heresy, sacrilege, blasphemy, sexual immorality, abuse of minors and general worldy indifference. Even more are we troubled by the attempted deconstruction of our holy religion from those who have seized the heights of power.

We're also sick of seeing the smiling indifference of the bright-coated majority, who will traipse off to things like the World Day of Families to hear radical homosexualists like ''Fr.'' James Martin S.J., as though these men were paragons of Catholic virtue.

Yesterday, I was reminded of why I am a Catholic.

Firstly, because of Jesus - Our Blessed Lord Who remains night and day, often at the sullied hands of traitorous clergy, in the Tabernacles of our churches, simply because He is LOVE Itself.

Pure Love.

Totally LOVE.

Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

He Who IS.

In the presence of those old priests and my family yesterday, it felt again like those days before Francis, when one had that feeling of rose-garden security that, no matter how messed up you were, no matter how bad your own diocese or parish was, no matter how evil the world was getting, that at least the Church was your rock.

How often one used to feel that years ago. How comforting it was.

All of us have felt like that.

And yet, now we have only brambles and thorns in its stead.

Friends, this shows we are with Christ. Did we really think such encouraging candy was forever? Sweeties are for children or beginners; hard bread is what we need to nourish us and get us to Heaven. This isn't Santa's Grotto!

One could not have drawn near to Christ, without His thorn-crowned Head piercing into our own. That is the price of loving the Crucified.

The Catholic Church was, is and ever shall be the Rock, the One, True, Church which Christ founded for the salvation and sanctification of souls until the end of time.

And against that Church, the Gates of Hell shall NOT prevail.

So, don't let's hear any of this tosh about how individuals have come to discern that the whole Gregorian reform was a mistake, or how defining papal infallibility was an error, or how Greek or Russian Orthodoxy is the answer.

We are Catholics! The enemy has invaded our position and is taking no prisoners.

Stay with Christ, man up and hold the line. This is a war, not an outing to pick daisy chains.

We have an enemy that is Hate itself, that hates us. On the other hand, we have a Lord Who is LOVE, Who loves us. That is why love of our temporal enemies is so essential. To paraphrase T.S. Eliot, Christ's is a love costing no less than everything. And in that price, is our peace.

Make no mistake, at some point, Our Lord is going to call time and pull the rug from beneath these feverish money changers who have sullied His Temple.

In the meantime, He is extending a Crucified Hand and asking us to take hold. We cannot be surprised that His nails will pierce us, or that the shadow of His Cross will fall upon us, if we do so.

Dear friends,

Heaven Knows!

Yesterday, I was reminded of this.

Today, you have been too.

Keep the Faith, friends in Christ!

And let's stay close to Our Heavenly Mother, who cares more than you know.

Our Lady of Victories - Pray for us!

I was just listening to Father Kramer speak of Blessed Anne's prophecy (see video at the Trad Priests on the Luciferian NWO thread)  and that she said there will be a counterfeit church built within the Church which will go underground and there will come a time when it will appear that the true Church no longer exists anywhere on the earth.

That scripture about people who cannot endure sound teaching but accumulate teachers who suit their own likings!  How true is that!

And:  "Too many are proud...They are incapable of reading the signs of the times because their spiritual eyes are closed."   :/

I remember well, when I was in (Catholic) High School and all the changes began in the Church, and they came swiftly and with a vengeance as I recall. First the moving of the Tabernacle and the rearrangement of the Altar. They closed Churches, often, to accomplish this and at the Parish of my upbringing as well as the one where the High School was located, we were going to Mass in the Parish Hall, both once the Parish Church that had been outgrown. We were 'treated' to the new Altar configuration here, with the celebrant facing the people and new 'booklets' handed about in the new Mass, the shortened and colloquial language editions. It was very strange and most disorienting. Many felt a palpable uneasiness in the Parishioners over these changes.

Then at the school, one day, our Sisters of The Blessed Virgin Mary, collectively, came to class in common attire and with their shortened hair, which had been concealed below the habit. Some tried to 'dress it all up' and even wore make up and often this was done very poorly, like young ladies experimenting with makeup and fashion choices in the public schools did. Again, disorienting, confusing and distracting. A few of the older Nuns shunned this for a while, but eventually, all conformed to the changes.

Even the music was changing and unaccustomed Protestant-leaning hymns were being sung, with the force of 'inclusion'. Even our Senior Year Book, a short time later was changed from the school mascot's "Guards" (as in like the Papal Swiss Guards) to "Avant -garde".

This whole thing really eroded my faith with time and I fell away from the Church for many years, became quite lukewarm and even cool, until my mid-twenties. But even then, I was led astray by some Benedictine Monk Priests at a University, into the more liberal thought and practice of the 'Neo-Catholicism'.

These lukewarm convictions have been what I have seen become tenets and norms within the Church today and I have been able to recognize them, having lived the changes and still having strong memories of how the Church was before the evil parts of Vatican II (as in "In the Spirit of Vatican II...[fill in the blank]" kind of errors) became apparent and even prevalent.

I thank Our Lady for my rescue!

I just talked to my friend on the phone.

She attends the NO and wanted to have a Mass said for me for my birthday.

She said her parish told her they don't offer Masses for individuals.  They just offer them for the whole parish. ??  Huh

I could be wrong but I'm guessing it's because they don't believe in the sacrifice being offered.  Many

So if the priest doesn't believe in the sacrifice aspect, but only in the meal aspect, do they have the intention to confect?

Anyway, she found a Latin Mass site online that would offer one for me.

Many in the Charismatic community see offering masses or using sacramentals as kind of superstitious.

Ya, we had a LOT of proto-New Age weenie girls at our school (and their entourage of 'go-along with' boys, seeking favors, of course) and they were largely responsible for the production of the school yearbook.

Pathetic, really.

Speaking of a "false church" except when speaking of schismatic or heretical sects, but instead speaking of those in the hierarchy is extremely dangerous and risks heresy itself.

The Church is, by definition, a visible society, united to a visible head. While that head can be absent for a short while it cannot become so totally eclipsed that the head or society itself becomes invisible.

The Church can never be defined as some pious invisible union of those who profess the true faith and put in opposition to what visibly appears to be the Catholic Church, no matter how bad those who run that visible Church may seem on a human level.

To do so would be to reject the indefectiblity and permanence of the Church, which was promised by Christ Himself. So to speak of a "false church" in reference to the visible Catholic Church today risks denying the truth of what Our Lord said.

Now, that does not mean that everything that these antichrists do is good, nor that they have the right and power from Christ to destroy. In that sense perhaps we could speak by analogy of a "false church", but rather given the danger, I think it more prudent to even avoid that term. These are rather more like Judases. They are bishops and priests, like Judas. They are betraying Our Lord out of a desire to see their own version of good triumph, even perhaps thinking they can show Our Lord that their way is "better". Such was the Original Sin, as well : Adam and Eve choosing their own way to happiness outside of God's will and command.

Neither destroyed humanity itself, nor the Church, even if it did wound humanity and Christ, but God took these evils and used them to usher in greater goods : Oh, Happy Fault, that merited for us such a redeemer.

In short, don't look for easy answers to a complex question. Be good Catholics, keep your Faith, pray well, cultivate Virtue, flee from Sin. That's all you need to do, not to worry about anything else. Leave the complex questions to those whose duty it is to answer them, and do your small part, which makes these whose duty it is capable of doing theirs. Most of us aren't meant to be a King David, but simply to be a footsoldier fighting in his army, or your average man or woman doing the little things of daily life, so that the King can do his job. So, do that, and don't worry : "Pray, hope and do not worry. Worry is useless, and God will hear your prayer."

Yes, I see your point, MM.  There is no use in worrying but we may want to mentally and spiritually prepare.

Our Lady of La Salette said that the Church would be in eclipse and there are other prophesies to that effect.  This to me sounds like the underground Church in China.  Would that be considered invisible?
