What's Your Dream Car ?

This was my first car.  This one is an SVT, mine was an SE.

It was an absolute sleeper car. Looked like a smaller version of your mom's Taurus (which it kinda was) but it had the Ford Duratec 2.5L V6 engine (my SE had 170hp, the SVT has 195-200hp.). Nothing better than stepping on the gas and being thrust back in your seat as the little V6 roared to life and watching the Tachometer and Speedometer needles jump!

That engine is a Porsche design that was eventually purchased by Ford. The SE had a tightened suspension for a "European-style feel" so it was in many ways like driving a European car with American parts. A Porsche engine made with Motorparts? So a repair doesn't cost an arm and a leg and I still get the effecient German engineering...sign me up!

I still miss that car to this day. My love really is that 2.5L Duratec engine...one of the best engines Ford *cough* Porsche *cough* made.

^I like that color. My first cool car was 65 sierra tan Malibu. It's funny, one day my friend showed up and said he was going to sell me the Malibu. He acted like he was doing me a favor and that it was time to step my cool up a notch or two. Well, whatever. It was ok, two door hardtop small block 4 barrel dual exhaust 4 on the floor with rally wheels and Uniroyal wide-oval tires, but I'm just not that cool I guess. I liked my next one better, way better: 67 black Ford Mustang 4 speed fastback. Now that was cool.

We are living in a muscle car renaissance but I still love 60s and early 70s period cars.  I have so many fond memories as a boy ridding in the front seat of my fathers 1970 Buick Electra hardtop.

GM A-Bodies during that period were great, my favorite is the Olds 442 in Viking Blue.

I've had many "dream cars" over the years and have been fortunate to own some, but the best times have come with the special someone in the seat next to me and little ones in the back!
