Pope Francis Strips God’s Wrath From Mass for Pandemic
#1
The liturgy, approved by Pope Francis, eliminates all prayers emphasizing "repentance" — references which abound in the "Recordare domine testamenti" [Remember, Lord, thy covenant] votive Mass — composed and used for deliverance from pestilences since the Black Plague in the mid-14th century. https://www.churchmilitant.com/news/arti...r-pandemic

If Catholic leadership has ever been worse, I'd sure like to know when that was.

[sarcasm]

CM decided to use for their main picture a page from the SSPX's hand missal.

How could they consort with and support SCHISM!

[/sarcasm]

Church Militant is the National Enquirer of Catholicism.

After the scandalous and libelous hit piece they ran against a diocesan priest and the SSPX, without retraction or apology, but rather doubling down with more libel, lies and scandal, no Catholic with a conscience should be supporting Voris and his ilk.

Church Militant reporting on this aspect of a newly composed liturgy is kind of pointless.

Avoiding references to sin, hell, and other subject matter "modern man" would find odd and/or offensive has been the norm in composing(or reducing) liturgies for the past half century.

Honestly, the CDW may have made the right decision in the situation as well.

People will start walking out the doors if you have a population of poorly catechized Catholics losing loved ones who start hearing that their family members got sick and died as a punishment for sins they assumed were indifferent acts.   True, they will need to know these things(and it is largely the fault of those who should have been teaching the faith dropping the ball), but these concepts are so alien to people today that they will probably need to get eased back into it.
