Private comments...

For some reason, I'm seeing comments marked as private that are not my own on other people's profile pages. This is concerning.

I use this profile as example only to emphasize what I mean. Teresa Agrorum made a comment on this user's page which is marked as private and yet I can somehow see the comment!

And that's why you shouldn't use 'comments' for messaging. In fact, I'm not sure what their function is supposed to be. We have a perfectly adequate and private private messaging system. Use that.

Well that's a fair point but why offer the public/private option in the first place?

As I've said, I have no idea why we have the 'comments' function at all.
