Are fasting and abstinence rules exempt for the reception?  I'm guessing they are.  I'm certainly going to celebrate my son's marriage with plenty of food and drink.

Is there anything official on this?

What fasting and abstinence rules? It’s a Saturday.

As I pointed out, the old rules no longer bind under pain of sin, but as late as 1908, the date of my copy of Fr Lasance's 'My Prayer-Book', the Wednesdays and Fridays of Lent were days of fasting and full abstinence, all other days (except Sundays) were days of fasting and partial abstinence.
