Does the Church have the power to give the blessing to unions of...the same sex?

This is why people look to the Catholic Church, for clarity of teaching.  Peter has spoken.

People with same sex attraction need this clarity.

People with any sort of problems with lust need this. It's no different than the Church speaking against adultery, masturbation, pornography, etc. All forms of lust are sinful and evil.

Surprising no one, Horan is not amused by the CDF's document...

"And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican." - Matthew 18:17

The modernists hate Aquinas and Aristotle...funny enough so did Luther. So no surprise to see Horan here speaking openly against them.

The only differences between Martin and Horan are that one is a Jesuit, the other a Franciscan, and that Martin is probably better known. They are both a disgrace to their Orders and to the Church.

Martin is much more sophisticated in his manner of speaking, he is quite a masterful snake. He always says things in such a way as to retain plausible deniability. You won't see him go on a tirade like Horan has done in the tweets above.

It really makes me skeptical of the Franciscan theology as a whole since post-Vatican 2 has been heavily hostile towards Dominican/Thomism. I don't see Dominicans engage in this sort of fast and loose theology the way I see Franciscans do. It seems that Vatican 2 is favored majority by Franciscans and not a real good sort.

Then again the OFM I feel has suffered the same fate as the Society of Jesus...little shred of fidelity remains there.

I wonder if there will be any fallout like there was when Pope Paul promulgated Humanae Vitae.

Are the people pushing for these “partnerships” to be blessed aware that masturbation is a grave sin? I suspect if you actually discussed the various sins against chastity with these people you’d get the same obnoxious, cockeyed stare of anger. It wouldn’t surprise me if part of that group is also upset that the “unions” mentioned are between two different sexes, rather than two or two thousand “genders”.
