Prayers for altar serving
#1
Good news-- I'm scheduled to begin serving at my TLM this week (obviously, I'm male!). However, I am rather nervous that something will go wrong or that I'll blunder. A prayer or two that this goes right and I can learn to serve well would be much appreciated.

God bless!

You might also say this prayer, modified from the Priest's prayers before Mass in the Missale Romanum:

My Purpose is to serve this Mass and to Receive the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the rite of the Holy Roman Church to the praise of our all-powerful God and all His assembly in the glory of heaven, for my good and the good of all His pilgrim Church on earth, and for all who have asked me to pray for them in general and in particular, and for the good of the Holy Roman Church.

In some sacristies there used to be a "plate" in Latin that said:
"Sicut prima
sicut ultima
sicut unica"
so as to remind (the priest and the altar servers) the importance of taking each mass seriously, "as if it was the first, the last and the only". As long as one keeps that in mind it'll be ok.
