Curious: There was a big EQ on the Isle of Crete and the volcanoes stopped, not slowed down...stopped. Crete is on the African plate and so is La Palma. Not long afterwards, the eruptions continued at near the same intensity.

The bad news is that over 5000 people and have been dislocated and over 500 homes have been destroyed because of the eruption.
The good news is that as of now there are no deaths because of the eruption.

The La Palma / Cumbre Vieja volcano started a new eruption on September 19th, 2021. As of the writing of this video, the eruption has now been ongoing for 15 days. Its lava flows have destroyed more than 1,000 structures, and covered more than 30 square kilometres with a layer of ash. Additionally, it has added 28 hectares of new land to La Palma, which will only increase in the following days.
