Modalistic monarchianism

Was contending with one of these heretics the other day who kept accusing me of following man-made traditions. But his theological explanation of any text showing distinction is that the Father basically remained in Heaven as a piece of flesh was made on Earth. So the Theophany and the Transfiguration are totally irrelevant since God was still in Heaven. Yet that's what Trinity teaches only acknowledging the distinction revealed in Scriptures. But then he claimed to acknowledge a distinction too. Though if his concept of distinction is true, I'm not certain he can say that God experienced death in the flesh for him...
