Written for and Prayed By St. Rose of Lima
(pdf)
About this litany: In the canonization process for St. Rose of Lima, Fray Pedro de Loayza
said,
This witness has
never heard the blessed Rose sigh or do any action that was for the
relief of her own body, in imitation of a certain saint called Gregorio
Lopez who died in New Spain. The saint had read his biography and
praised him highly. Proceeding from this, the saint requested that a
litany of 150 divine attributes be made for her. She put them in groups
of ten, with a Gloria at the end of each group of ten, in the manner of
the Psalter or the Rosary. The blessed Rose said that the demons
trembled and fled before this litany.
